Pfarrkirche Großharras
The Catholic parish church of the Holy Trinity stands on slightly higher ground at the southern edge of the village of Großharras in Mistelbach district, Lower Austria. It belongs to the deanery of Laa-Gaubitsch in the vicariate of the Manhartsberg under the Archdiocese of Vienna. The church was placed under monument protection in the 20th century. The parish was founded around 1207 and handed to the Knights of Malta in 1255. The original Gothic building had a northern tower added in the 14th century, and the nave was remodelled in the Baroque style in 1766. A major restoration took place in 1969. The church is surrounded by a walled cemetery with sections of old ashlar masonry. The exterior shows a plain plastered façade under a high pitched roof, a west front with massive buttresses, and a Gothic choir with a five-sided apse. Inside, the nave has a Baroque barrel vault on double pilasters, while the choir retains its Gothic ribbed vault with sculpted corbels. The chapel of St John of Nepomuk, built in 1840, has a square plan with chamfered corners and a depressed dome. The church contains a 12-sided Gothic font, a Baroque pulpit from the late 18th century, and a 1733 organ enlarged in 1766. In the south-west corner of the cemetery stands a simple early 20th-century chapel housing the graves of the Hardegg and Harnoncourt families.
