Jünger-Haus Wilflingen
The Jünger-Haus Wilflingen stands in the village of Wilflingen, near Langenenslingen in Upper Swabia. It was the final home of the writer Ernst Jünger until his death in 1998. After his passing, the house became a memorial site dedicated to his life and work. In 2010 and 2011, the building underwent restoration to reopen as a museum. During this time, its contents were temporarily moved to the Center of Literary Museums in Marbach am Neckar. The museum displays several key areas connected to Jünger’s life. Visitors can see his living room and office, where he wrote many of his works. The library holds over nine thousand books from his personal collection. Another room focuses on the writings of his brother, Friedrich Georg Jünger. A separate exhibition highlights Jünger’s own literary achievements. The house also features his collection of beetles and various souvenirs he gathered during his travels. The interior reflects Jünger’s long life and wide interests. Carpets from different countries cover the floors, adding warmth to the rooms. His study remains arranged much as it was when he used it. The museum contains around sixty thousand objects in total, offering a detailed look at his world. Outside, the quiet village setting contrasts with the intellectual energy inside the house.
