Loch Iubhair

Loch Iubhair is a small freshwater loch in central Scotland, set in the council area of Stirling. It lies 157 metres above sea level, about 600 kilometres northwest of London. The loch covers 0.22 square kilometres and is surrounded mainly by grassland. It stretches roughly 0.6 kilometres from north to south and 0.7 kilometres from east to west. The loch is part of a quiet upland landscape that draws visitors seeking open scenery. Its calm waters reflect the surrounding hills and sky, creating simple but striking views. The area has few buildings, giving a sense of remoteness despite its location near the central belt. Paths run close to the shore, allowing easy access for short walks. The grassy banks slope gently to the water’s edge, making it a peaceful spot for reflection or light observation. On still days the surface of the loch is almost mirror-like, showing the clouds and hills above.
