Schlosskapelle Pux
Schloss Pux stands in the village of Pux in the Murau district of Styria. The original castle was destroyed by fire in 1779 and left as a ruin. A new castle was built in 1911 beside the surviving Schlosskapelle Pux, while the Pranckh family had a manor house erected at the foot of the Puxberg. The chapel is a free-standing Roman Catholic church dedicated to St Giles. It belongs to the Murau deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese. The building combines a late Romanesque rectangular nave with a narrower, recessed choir square. A sacristy dated 1594 is attached to the north of the choir, and a neo-Gothic belfry crowns the eastern end of the nave. Inside, the choir is rib-vaulted while the nave has a wooden coffered ceiling and a Renaissance west gallery. Thirteenth-century frescoes of Christ in a mandorla, the four Evangelists, angels and saints were uncovered in 1912 and conserved in 1957. The 1676 altar carries a painted antependium from about 1730, and the 1693 organ depicts Peter and Paul on the sides with Cecilia and King David in the centre.
