The Herrmannsberg rises to 536 metres in the North Palatine Uplands of Rheinland-Pfalz. It belongs to the county of Kusel and sits beside the Bornberg to the southeast. Three villages share its name: Welchweiler, Elzweiler and Horschbach. Nearby are Hinzweiler, Oberweiler im Tal and Eßweiler, each within a few kilometres. A major pipeline crosses the hill, carrying natural gas from the Netherlands to Italy.

The hill is recognised for its quiet wooded slopes and open summit. Hikers follow well-marked trails that lead past old stone boundary markers. The Trans-Europe pipeline, built in 1972 and later extended in 2003, runs along the ridge without disturbing the landscape. Views stretch across rolling hills and farmland in every direction.

At the top stands a simple stone cairn and a bench where walkers rest. The surrounding forest is a mix of beech and oak, home to deer and many songbirds. On clear days the view reaches as far as the Donnersberg, the highest point in the region. The air is fresh and the silence broken only by the wind in the leaves.
