Pfarrkirche hl. Petrus und Paulus, Krispl

The parish church of Krispl stands in the village of Krispl in the Hallein district of Salzburg. It is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and belongs to the Hallein deanery in the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The church is protected as a listed building and its patronal festival takes place on 29 June.
The present church was built in the 17th century and extended eastwards in 1759. The tower was added in 1731 and the church became a parish church in 1859. After a restoration in 1968 the west façade was altered and the interior repainted. The simple single-nave Baroque structure has a flat-bowed choir with a hipped roof and a west tower clad in shingles, topped by a Baroque onion dome marked 1896 and 1962.
Inside, the four-bay nave is covered by a segmental barrel vault adorned with ceiling paintings dated 1831. The high altar of marble, designed by Paul Lange, dates from 1884 and features a late-17th-century wooden crucifix and figures of God the Father, Peter and Paul. Side altars by Johann Pfister (1721) originally held paintings by Johann Löxhaller from the late 18th century, though some figures were stolen in 1968. The 18th-century pulpit displays images of Christ and the four Evangelists from the late 19th century. The organ, built by Albert Mauracher in 1909 and restored in 2006, has a pneumatic action and replaced zinc façade pipes with tin after the First World War.
