Pflunspitzen

The Pflunspitzen stand in the Verwall Group of the Austrian Alps, west of the Kaltenberg. They are the highest points in the western Verwall, with the main summit reaching 2,912 metres. The nearest village is Klösterle by Arlberg, north of the peaks. The summit block includes the south top, the fore top, the main summit, and the north top. Routes from the Reutlinger Hut and the Konstanzer Hut lead to the summits. The routes vary in difficulty, from the easiest grade I climb via the Reutlinger Hut to the south top, to more challenging grades III to V routes. The crossing from the north top to the Kaltenberg is graded III. The Via Katrin, graded III to VI, ascends the west face to the main summit. These routes are recognised as scenic rock climbing challenges. A visitor finds rugged alpine terrain with steep rock faces and high ridges. The Reutlinger Hut and Konstanzer Hut provide bases for climbers. Views from the summits stretch across the Verwall Group and beyond. The routes offer a mix of technical climbing and exposed scrambling. The Pflunspitzen are a destination for experienced mountaineers seeking a challenge.
