Sender Bendorf-Vierwindenhöhe

The Sender Bendorf-Vierwindenhöhe is a radio transmission facility in Bendorf, Rhineland-Palatinate. It sends FM radio programmes to Koblenz and the Neuwied Basin. Before digital television replaced analogue signals in 2008, the same mast broadcast television pictures to the region. The site once carried several analogue TV channels, now switched off. Its main role today is FM radio distribution across a wide valley. The mast stands on a hill called Vierwindenhöhe, chosen for its clear line of sight to receivers. Visitors find a tall steel tower surrounded by woodland on the hilltop. The open ground around the base gives long views over the Rhine valley. There is no public access inside the fenced compound. The hill itself offers quiet walking trails through mixed forest.
