Anvil Point is a headland on the Jurassic Coast in Purbeck, Dorset. It lies within Durlston Country Park, about three kilometres from Swanage. The point is named after its shape, which resembles an anvil. The Anvil Point Lighthouse stands on the headland, built in 1881. The cliffs around the point are made of Portland limestone and Purbeck beds. Quarries once operated at nearby Tilly Whim Caves, Dancing Ledge and Winspit.

The area is known for its geological significance and leisure activities. Walking and rock climbing are popular pastimes along the coast. The headland offers views across the English Channel. The lighthouse remains an important navigational aid. The surrounding cliffs show layers of rock from different periods.

Visitors find well-marked paths through Durlston Country Park. The coastline provides dramatic views of the sea and cliffs. Rock climbers use the limestone faces for practice. The lighthouse and its keeper’s cottages stand near the edge of the point. The area attracts geologists and walkers alike. The quarries nearby add to the historical interest of the site.
