Punitz-Güssing airfield
The Flugplatz Punitz-Güssing lies north of Punitz village in the municipality of Tobaj, Güssing district, southern Burgenland. The grass runway runs east–west for 800 m and is 18 m wide. The Sportfliegerclub USFC-Punitz owns and runs the airfield. It is approved for aircraft up to 6 700 kg and hosts motor planes, helicopters, motor gliders, sailplanes, ultralights and balloons. Fallschirm- and Segelflugbetrieb share the field with a maintenance hangar, a flight-taxi service for sightseeing, charter flights and two flying schools. The USFC Punitz and Punitz Flug operate training for power and glider pilots. Visitors find a single runway set in flat Burgenland farmland. A small hangar houses the maintenance workshop and the flight-taxi office. On clear days the gentle hills of southern Burgenland stretch to the horizon.
