Saint Andrew Church
The parish church in Kroatisch Geresdorf stands in the small village of the same name in Burgenland. It belongs to the Croatian deanery of Großwarasdorf and is dedicated to Saint Andrew. The building has been protected as a listed monument since the 20th century. The church was first built before the Reformation and originally honoured Saint Kunigunde. The present structure dates from 1795, with major interior work in 1966 and further repairs in 1972. Its simple design includes a tower with a pyramid roof rising above a curved gable. Inside, the church has a two-bay nave with ribbed vaulting supported by sturdy pilasters. The narrower choir is closed on three sides outside and rounded within. A round-arched archway separates the nave from the choir. The high altar, pulpit and font all date from around 1800, while the side altar came from the former Kamaldulenser monastery at Landsee. The organ, built in 1912 by Gebrüder Rieger, completes the modest yet harmonious interior.
