The Milky Way Adventure Park
The Milky Way Adventure Park sits on a working farm in North Devon, set across more than 110,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. The park began in 1984 when the Stanbury family turned their failing dairy farm into a visitor attraction. Over the years, it has grown into a year-round destination with rides, shows and play areas. Trevor Stanbury received an MBE in 2007 for his work in tourism. The park now includes a 17th-century barn used for weddings. The park offers more than a hundred activities for all ages. Families can ride roller coasters, try dodgems and soft-play areas, or watch birds of prey displays. There is a mini-train, archery sessions and a daily programme of shows, some starring Merlin from Britain’s Got Talent. Little Stars, the indoor soft-play centre, opened in 2014 and is designed for children aged 0 to 6. The park also holds events such as Santa’s Grotto and themed weddings with rides. Visitors find a mix of rides and attractions spread across the site. The Lynbarn Railway runs on a narrow-gauge track once used by the old Lynton and Barnstaple Railway. Ziggy’s Blast Quest combines a dark ride with rollercoaster thrills. Sci-fi fans can see costumes from Star Wars and Doctor Who. The Old Barn provides a historic setting for weddings. With so much to do, the park remains a popular choice in Devon.
