Leinburg (Kleingartach)
The Leinburg was a small medieval hilltop fortress standing on the 307-metre Leinberg above Kleingartach. It belonged to the local Lords of Leinburg, a noble family that died out in the 16th century. Built around 1200 as their seat of power, the castle passed through several hands in the 14th century. Markgraf Friedrich II of Baden pledged the fortress to Albrecht Bruzze in 1332, who sold his rights to Ulrich III of Württemberg three years later. After brief recovery, the castle was re-pledged in 1337 to Konrad von Enzberg and reverted to Württemberg by about 1360. By 1442 it was already recorded as a ruin. Today only grassy banks and low stone remnants mark the site. The view from the hilltop looks across the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park towards Kleingartach. Walkers can follow a short path to the summit and trace the vanished walls among wild thyme and juniper.
