Catholic parish church Timelkam
The Catholic parish church of Timelkam stands in the centre of the small town of Timelkam in Upper Austria. It is dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker and belongs to the deanery of Schwanenstadt in the diocese of Linz. The building replaced an older church which had served the parish since the 19th century. The present church was designed by the architect Gottfried Nobl and built between 1964 and 1966. It was consecrated on 25 September 1966 after the parish had temporarily used the former evangelical church nearby. The design uses red facing bricks both inside and out, giving the building a warm, uniform appearance. Inside, visitors find a square nave lit by high windows on all sides. The altar area holds a crucifix carved around 1730 by Giovanni Giuliani, a lay brother from Stift Heiligenkreuz. Above the entrance loft stands an organ built in 1971 by Bruno Riedl, its tones filling the space during services.
