Scheiberkogel

The Scheiberkogel stands on the border between Austria and Italy in the eastern Rhaetian Alps. It is part of the Gurgle ridge and reaches 3,133 metres above sea level. The mountain belongs to the Passiria Alps, a range known for its sharp peaks and high passes. At 3,133 metres the summit offers wide views across the Alps. The ridge connects two valleys, one leading down to the Italian village of Moso in Passiria and the other to the Austrian resort of Sölden. Climbers value the route for its clear lines and steady climb. From the summit a narrow path follows the crest back toward the Gurgle ridge. The surrounding peaks rise steeply on both sides of the border. On clear days the Dolomites appear in the south while the Ötztal Alps dominate the north.
