Vienna Twin Tower

The Vienna Twin Tower stands in the Wienerberg City district of Favoriten, Vienna’s tenth district. It is a high-tech building complex near the Wienerberg hill, close to Wienerbergstraße and Triester Straße. The twin towers form the tallest structure in the newly developed quarter, which mostly contains apartment and office buildings. Construction began in 1999 and finished in 2001. The taller tower reaches 138 metres, while the other stands at 127 metres. The project was designed by architect Massimiliano Fuksas and financed by Wienerberger Baustoffindustrie AG and Immofinanz Immobilien Anlagen AG. The complex includes a conference centre, a ten-screen cinema, several cafés and restaurants, and a garage with 1,000 parking spaces. The two halves of the tower connect at an obtuse angle and are linked by multiple bridges. The Vienna Twin Tower lies on the edge of the city, next to the Wienerberg recreation area, which features a golf course. Public transport access is limited, served only by three bus lines and a shuttle to the U-Bahn 6 station at Philadelphiabrücke. Despite its location, the complex remains a striking example of modern high-tech architecture in Vienna.
