Kapelle hl. Genoveva, Bachlechenkapelle

The Bachlehenkapelle stands in Versellerberg, beside the Winkeltalbach stream in Außervillgraten, a village in the Lienz district of eastern Tyrol. This small Roman Catholic chapel belongs to the parish of Sillian and sits under the Diocese of Innsbruck. It is protected as an official historic monument in Austria. Built in 1765, the chapel shows simple farmhouse baroque style with a small bell tower rising above the roof. Inside, the altar dates from the same period and follows the same style. A painted votive tablet records the names of those who paid for the chapel. The interior walls carry modest frescoes and painted wooden fittings typical of rural baroque craftsmanship. Visitors step into a quiet space where light falls through small windows onto the plain altar. Outside, the chapel overlooks rolling meadows and the rushing stream below. The surrounding mountains close the view with gentle slopes.
