The Edelweißspitze is a mountain summit in the High Tauern range, situated in Salzburg, Austria. It lies north of the Alpine divide and can be reached by car via the Edelweißstraße, which branches off from the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. The road starts at Fuscher Törl and leads to the highest accessible point on the route. The summit was originally known as Poneck, Leitenkogel or Bergerkogel before the parking area was built.
The viewpoint offers sweeping views over the High Tauern National Park, particularly towards the peaks of the Glockner Group. To the north-west, a mountain hut provides shelter and includes a restaurant for visitors. The site is recognised for its scenic value and serves as a popular stop for those exploring the region.
Visitors find a car park at the summit, surrounded by rugged alpine scenery. The restaurant in the nearby hut offers food and refreshments with panoramic views. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road itself is known for its dramatic landscapes and winding route. The area attracts those who enjoy high-altitude driving and mountain vistas.
