Meall Buidhe

Meall Buidhe is a hill in the southern Highlands of Scotland. It stands on the ridge that divides Glen Daimh from Glen Lyon, two valleys in Argyll and Bute. Another hill with the same name lies about five kilometres away in Glen Lyon. The hill reaches 908.4 metres above sea level and has a prominence of 259 metres. It belongs to two hill classifications: a Corbett and a Marilyn. The walk to the summit passes through open moorland and rough grassland. The ridge offers wide views across the surrounding glens and distant mountains. On clear days Ben Lawers and Schiehallion can be seen from the top. The route is often used by hillwalkers looking for a shorter Corbett outing. The terrain is firm underfoot but can be boggy after rain. From the summit there is a broad panorama of the southern Grampians. The ridge continues north-east towards another high point before dropping into Glen Lyon. The contrast between the quiet glens and the open summit ridge gives the walk a peaceful quality. The area is recognised for its quiet paths and lack of crowds.
