Theater Saarbrücken

The Saarländisches Staatstheater stands in Saarbrücken, the capital of Saarland, Germany. It is the state theatre of Saarland and has several divisions: opera, drama, dance and concert. The main venue, the Großes Haus, was completed in 1938. Other venues include the Alte Feuerwache, Congresshalle and sparte4. The theatre has a long history, with earlier venues dating back to before the French Revolution. August Wilhelm Iffland was director of the court theatres from 1786 to 1793.
