Schloss Klebing

Schloss Klebing stands in the village of Klebing, part of the municipality of Pleiskirchen in the Altötting district of Bavaria. It is a Baroque building constructed in the late 17th century on earlier foundations. The estate was once owned by the Tauffkirchen family, who left their mark on the design. The castle’s four wings form a trapezoidal courtyard with an octagonal tower at one corner. Lawns with one and a half arcades run along one side of the courtyard. Nearly every part of the building rises three storeys high. A two-storey chapel is built into one wing, matching the style of the main structure. The entire complex remains in private hands and is not open to visitors. Beneath the present building lie traces of medieval and early modern predecessors, recognised as archaeological monuments. The site also includes the remains of an associated farmyard, adding to the layers of history preserved here.
