Northolt tube station

Northolt station stands on the edge of the London Borough of Ealing, served by the Central line’s West Ruislip branch. It lies between South Ruislip to the west and Greenford to the east, in fare zone five. The present tube station opened in 1948 after the Central line was extended from North Acton. Before that, a halt on the Great Western Railway had operated nearby from 1907 until 1948. The new station sits on the opposite side of the road bridge from the old halt. The station has an island platform reached by stairs from the booking hall. Trains can reverse either at a turnback siding west of the platforms or at a crossover to the east. In 2026 work finished installing lifts, making the station fully step-free as part of a wider accessibility programme. North of the Central line tracks the single Acton–Northortholt line carries freight trains and one daily passenger service to Gerrards Cross. Buses link the station with routes 90, 120, 140, 282, 395, E10, Superloop SL9 and night route N7.
