Maroispitze

The Maroispitze is a mountain peak in western Austria. It stands in the federal state of Tyrol, about 500 kilometres west of Vienna. The summit reaches 2 548 metres above sea level. The land around it rises sharply to the north but becomes gentler and more rolling toward the south. The nearest town, Schruns, lies 18.7 kilometres to the west.

This is a quiet, open landscape of grassy slopes and alpine meadows. Fewer than thirty people live in each square kilometre, so the area feels remote. The mountain’s height and position make it a clear landmark on clear days. Hikers often use it as a guide when crossing the surrounding valleys.

A visitor finds wide views across the Vorarlberg countryside. The grassland stretches away underfoot, dotted with small streams and patches of low shrubs. To the south the ground drops away more gently, offering easier walking routes. The air is clean and cool, even in summer, and the silence is broken only by wind or distant cowbells.
