Ben Buie

Ben Buie is a mountain peak on the Isle of Mull in Argyll and Bute. It stands in the north of the island and is one of seven Grahams found there. The mountain is classified as a Marilyn, Graham and HuMP, terms used by hill-walking groups to describe its height and prominence. The peak attracts walkers who measure and record such hills across Britain and Ireland. Organisations maintain lists of these hills on a shared website called the Database of British and Irish Hills. The name Ben Buie comes from the original Gaelic language of the area. A climb to the top offers wide views over Mull and the surrounding islands. The route takes walkers through open moorland and rocky slopes. On clear days the peaks of other islands and the mainland can be seen from the summit. The mountain’s slopes are home to wildlife such as golden eagles and red deer.
