The Turmhügel Zoggendorf, also called Schloss Zoggendorf, is a vanished motte-and-bailey castle standing 100 metres west of the village centre in Zoggendorf. Zoggendorf belongs to the Markt Heiligenstadt in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg. The first written record of the site dates from 1427. The castle’s owners at that time were the Lords of Greiffenstein. Today only a low, rectangular mound marks the former tower site.

The surviving earthwork is the last physical trace of a once larger complex. Archaeological surveys confirm the mound’s medieval origins. The site lies on gentle farmland that slopes gently toward the surrounding fields. Visitors can walk around the low rise and see the difference between the raised platform and the surrounding ground. No walls or towers remain above ground.

A quiet lane leads from the village street to the mound. The area is quiet, with only the sound of wind in the hedgerows. The mound itself is about two metres high and roughly twenty metres long. It offers a clear view across the open countryside toward Heiligenstadt. The spot is ideal for a short stop to imagine how the castle once stood there.
