The parish church of Ried im Traunkreis stands in the village of the same name in the Kirchdorf district of Upper Austria. It belongs to the Diocese of Linz and is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra. The church is protected as a monument and its tower is also a natural monument because of its extensive ivy covering.

The church was first built in the 12th century and became an independent parish in 1179. The present late-Gothic building was constructed between 1476 and 1522 after the earlier church was closed for being unsafe. The tower still shows the date 1516 on its arch, and the church was restored several times, most recently in 1986 when Solnhofen slabs were laid and a new altar installed.

Inside, the two-aisled hall church has a ribbed vault over its four bays. The raised choir has three bays and ends in a three-sided apse. The west tower with its onion dome dominates the view. The high altar, made in 1874 by the sculptor H. Untersberger, shows statues of Saint Joseph, Saint Nicholas and John the Baptist. The side altars include a 17th-century image of Saint Florian and medieval statues of Saints Wolfgang and Leonhard.
