Mariä-Himmelfahrt-Kapelle

The Mariä-Himmelfahrt-Kapelle is a small Roman Catholic chapel in Sippersegg, part of Hittisau in Vorarlberg. It stands under official Denkmalschutz protection as a listed building. The circular structure has an open roof frame and a small porch at the entrance. The chapel was built in 1953 to plans by architect A. Rhomberg under the direction of builder A. Burtscher. Inside, a single stained-glass window shows the Immaculata, created by artist Martin Häusle the same year. The design blends traditional forms with post-war simplicity. Visitors find a quiet, round room with plain white walls and a high, open timber roof. The Immaculata window casts coloured light onto the simple altar space. Outside, the chapel sits among meadows with views across the Bregenzerwald hills.
