Butzensee

The Butzensee is a small natural lake high in the Alps, lying within the Bregenzerwald region near Schröcken in Vorarlberg. It sits at 2,119 metres above sea level in a shallow saddle between three peaks: Mohnenfluh, Butzenspitze and Zuger Hochlicht. The lake covers just over two hectares and is surrounded by rugged mountain terrain. Its remoteness and clear waters make it a quiet spot for hikers and nature lovers.
