St. Wendelin, Fluh
The parish church of Bregenz-Fluh stands in the Fluh district of Bregenz, a town in Vorarlberg. It is dedicated to Saint Wendelin and belongs to the Bregenz deanery of the Diocese of Feldkirch. The church is also a pilgrimage site and is protected as a listed building. The church’s history begins with a chapel built in 1666 as a branch of Bregenz. It became an independent church in 1820 and was rebuilt in 1846–47 by architect Gabriel Mallaun. The church was consecrated in 1849 and became a parish church in 1872. The frescoes inside were painted in 1925 by Anton Marte and Hans Purin. The church features a nave under a hipped roof, a lower choir with an octagonal end, and an east tower with a sacristy. The high altar shows Saint Wendelin painted by Matthäus Zehender in 1693. The side altars display images of the Virgin Mary and Saint Magnus, painted in the 18th and 19th centuries. A large pilgrimage painting from 1676 depicts the legend of Saint Wendelin.
