Pfarrkirche Hl. Drei Könige

The Dreikönigskirche stands in Hittisau, a village in the Bregenz district of Vorarlberg. It is a large, light-filled church built in the mid-19th century in the classical style. The building replaced an earlier church that had become too small for the growing community.
The church is worth visiting for its impressive architecture and art. The nave is 48.6 metres long and 20.6 metres wide, making it one of the largest sacred spaces in Vorarlberg. The tower rises 54 metres and features a distinctive onion dome. Inside, the ceiling painting by Waldemar Kolmsperger depicts the Last Judgement, with figures in local Bregenzerwald dress witnessing the return of Christ.
Visitors find a spacious interior with a flat barrel vault and giant pilasters lining the walls. The monumental ceiling painting shows the Apotheosis of Christ and a Hell scene with the seven deadly sins. The high altar features a painting of the Three Kings offering gifts to the Christ Child. Stained glass windows donated by the community depict saints and holy figures in the Nazarene style.
