Residenztheater

The Residenztheater stands in a yellow private building on Oskar-Helmer-Straße in Stockerau, Lower Austria. The house, built in 1995, mixes architectural styles and its layout echoes the White House in Washington. Inside, a single auditorium seats about 150 people and is fully equipped for performances. Founded by Richard Maynau, the theatre opened on 29 March 2008 and began professional shows immediately. It was the first in Stockerau to run a regular season of six to eight productions each year, split between spring and winter with a summer break. Visitors find a modern stage with full technical facilities and a clear sightline from every seat. The building’s eclectic style and the White House echoes make it a local landmark, while the programme offers plays and performances throughout the year.
