The Uhren- und Heimatmuseum stands in Vöcklamarkt, a village in Upper Austria surrounded by rolling farmland. The museum occupies the Stögerhaus, a building once used for local administration. The collection began in 2008 when the newly formed Museumsverein moved into the protected Moser-Haus. Archaeologists led by Dr Verena Gassner and Mag René Ployer spent four years excavating a Roman villa rustica near Haushamerfeld. In 2015 the entire museum relocated to its present home.

The displays show how the craft of clockmaking shaped the region. A central feature is the old church-tower clock that once kept time for the whole parish. Roman finds from the excavations include terracotta vessels, coins and metal tools. A reconstructed shop contains a 150-year-old cupboard filled with everyday objects. Upstairs a small section recalls the history of hairdressing in the area. Furniture from an 1875 manor house on Mondsee illustrates the tastes of the local gentry.

Visitors walk through rooms devoted to regional stories. One area traces the villages’ market rights and coats of arms. Another displays religious objects from the parish church at Pfaffing. Glass cases hold the 17th-century citizen roll, the 1913 Attersee railway timetable and examples of Austrian currency from 1948 to 2001. Portraits and documents recall figures such as Dr Anton Scheiber, Rotraut Hinderks-Kutscher and Christoph von Weiß. The final room introduces the Goldhaubengruppe and the local men’s choral society.
