The Haus der Springmaus is a small arts theatre in Endenich, a district of Bonn. It sits in a converted former dance hall on Frongasse, a quiet street lined with brick houses. The building belongs to the non-profit Haus der Springmaus e.V., run by managing director Berit Baumhoff and chaired by Andreas Etienne.

The theatre grew from a 1983 improvisation group founded by Canadian actor Bill Mockridge. Within two years it needed a proper stage, and the first cellar venue opened in 1985. By 1993 the company had outgrown that space and moved to Endenich, where a nine-month conversion created today’s two-level auditorium with 280 seats. The new stage can host larger touring shows and more elaborate sets, while the foyer, bars and dressing rooms support a busy programme.

Visitors find two storeys of seating facing a wide stage that hosts comedy, cabaret, stand-up, improvisation and occasional concerts. The programme still features the resident Springmaus Improvisation Theatre, alongside guest acts such as Urban Priol, Bülent Ceylan and Maxi Gstettenbauer. Young performers receive encouragement through dedicated slots, and the theatre remains a launch pad for new talent across the German-speaking world.
