Pfarrkirche Stainach

The parish church of Stainach stands in the village of Stainach, part of the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg in Styria. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, serving the Upper Enns Valley and the Styrian Salzkammergut under the Diocese of Graz-Seckau. The present building was constructed between 1957 and 1958 to plans by architect Franz Kirchner and consecrated in 1958 by Bishop Josef Schoiswohl. Its design is simple and modern, with a single nave. In 1998 the interior was restored, and the altar area and a large wall tapestry were created by artist Marga Persson from Kefermarkt. Inside, the church presents a plain but carefully arranged space focused on the altar and the wall tapestry behind it. The surroundings are quiet, typical of a rural parish church in the Enns valley.
