Wildkarspitze

The Wildkarspitze is a mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps of Tyrol, Austria. It stands on a ridge between the Wildschönauer Ache and Kelchsauer Ache valleys, south of Wörgl. The nearest peaks along the ridge are the Breitteggern to the north and the Breiteggspitze to the south. The summit reaches 1,961 metres above sea level. The route from the Schönangeralm at 1,173 metres makes for an easy walk to the top. It passes the Breiteggalm and Kleinneubergalm before reaching the Kleinberger Niederhorn. From there, the final half-hour leads to the Wildkarspitze. The round trip takes about two and a half hours. Walkers can return the same way or take a slightly longer route via the Breitteggern. On the way up, the path offers views across the Wildschönauer Ache valley. To the west, the Lämpersberg and the Großer Beil stand out clearly. The alpine meadows of the alm huts add to the scenery. The route is gentle enough for most walkers. At the summit, the wide ridge gives a fine outlook over the Kitzbühel Alps.
