Pfarrkirche St. Severin, Tulln

The Pfarrkirche Tulln-St. Severin stands in the Anton-Bruckner-Straße in Tulln an der Donau, a town on the Danube in Lower Austria. It is a modern Roman Catholic parish church dedicated to Saint Severin of Noricum. The church belongs to the Tulln deanery in the Diocese of St. Pölten.
The building was designed by architect Rudolf Sigmund and completed in 1972. In 1982 it became a parish church. Between 1988 and 1990 it was expanded into a pastoral centre, and in 2001 the bell tower was redesigned. The church’s modern design features a square floor plan with a chamfered corner and narrow window bands under a diagonal hip roof.
Inside, the square worship space has its altar and organ aligned on a diagonal axis beneath an open roof structure. Light enters through the glazed ridge, and the glass art by Kurt Czernia adds colour and pattern. The furnishings, mostly from 1972, were carved by Josef Weinbub, including wooden Stations of the Cross reliefs in 1978 and a bronze portal in 1998. The Walcker organ dates from 1992.
