transmission tower Villingen-Schwenningen (Marbach)

The Sender Villingen-Schwenningen (Marbach) is a broadcasting facility in the Marbach district of Villingen-Schwenningen. It stands in the Black Forest region, surrounded by woodland and open meadows. The site houses a 72-metre-high steel mast for FM and DAB radio transmissions. It carries programmes for listeners across south-west Germany. The mast forms part of the Südwestrundfunk network, linking towns and villages in the region. Since April 2018 it has also carried digital radio multiplexes in vertical polarisation. Visitors reach the base of the mast along a quiet forest track. The mast itself is fenced off, but the surrounding area offers long views over the Baar uplands. On clear days the Alps can be seen to the south. The site is quiet, with no public buildings or facilities.
