Salthouse Marshes

Salthouse Marshes is a nature reserve west of Sheringham in Norfolk. It covers 66 hectares and is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. The site lies within the North Norfolk Coast Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is also part of several national and international conservation designations. The reserve includes grazing marsh and small pools. The marshes attract a variety of birds throughout the year. Snow buntings and Lapland buntings visit in winter. Little egrets and shore larks can be seen feeding along the pools. Barn owls hunt over the grassland at dusk. Public access is allowed across the reserve. Visitors walk along paths that cross the grazing marsh. Views extend over the salt marshes and the North Sea beyond.
