Gallt yr Ogof
Gallt yr Ogof is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales. It stands as a subsidiary top of Glyder Fawr and is the most easterly summit over 2,000 feet in the Glyderau range. The highest point of the mountain reaches 763 metres. A ridge runs west from the summit towards Glyder Fach. On the steep eastern cliffs a cave is cut into the rock. The mountain is linked to Y Foel Goch by a ridge that heads west. This ridge provides a challenging scramble for experienced walkers. The cave on the eastern side is known as Ogof yr Eryr. Its location makes it a notable feature of the landscape. Visitors find a rugged upland landscape with dramatic cliffs and rocky outcrops. The views stretch across the Carneddau and the Conwy Valley. The cave attracts explorers and photographers for its dramatic setting. The surrounding area offers routes for both gentle walks and serious climbs. The contrast between the high peaks and the deep valleys below is striking.
