Geißkopf

The Geißkopf is a mountain rising to 1,198 metres in the Bregenzerwald range of Vorarlberg. It belongs to the Lorenaberge subgroup and stands as the highest point of that smaller chain. The peak lies close to the Bödele-Hochälpele ski area, with the Lorenapass pass a short distance to the north-east. Walkers and mountain-bike riders use its broad slopes year-round. In winter the same routes become safe snow trails for snowshoeing. The mountain’s open flanks and gentle gradients suit all levels of ability. From the summit visitors look across the Bregenzerwald forests and valleys. The view takes in the Allgäu Alps and, on clear days, Lake Constance. The rounded top offers a wide, unobstructed panorama without the need for technical climbing.
