Allee-Theater

Theatre für Kinder, also known as Allee-Theater, stands in Hamburg-Altona along Max-Brauer-Allee. Founded in 1968 by Uwe Deeken, it began as a privately run children’s theatre. Since 1996 the Hamburg Chamber Opera has shared the same stage under the same management. The building includes a main hall with stage and auditorium for performances. Red and gold upholstered chairs seat 226 spectators in this space. Beside the hall is a glass-enclosed courtyard room that houses a bar and restaurant.

The theatre is worth the journey because it combines two distinct art forms in one place. Children’s theatre and chamber opera share the same stage and facilities. The Hamburg Chamber Opera’s presence adds professional opera to the programme. Uwe Deeken’s founding vision created a dedicated venue for young audiences. The glass courtyard room offers a relaxed space before or after performances.

Visitors find a hall with stage and auditorium set up for either theatre or opera. Chairs in red and gold upholstery line the auditorium in rows. The glass courtyard room beside the hall contains a bar and restaurant. Its location along Max-Brauer-Allee places it in a lively district of Hamburg-Altona. The building’s design allows natural light into the courtyard space.
