Freilichtmuseum Stehrerhof
The Freilichtmuseum Stehrerhof is a group of farm buildings near Neukirchen an der Vöckla in Upper Austria. It shows how people lived and worked on a farm around 1900. The main house dates from the 16th century and mixes two local farm styles. The museum preserves a 16th-century house with a central courtyard. Around it stand the living rooms, kitchen, storerooms and barn. Other buildings were moved here from nearby villages: a granary, a drying shed with a sliding floor, a threshing machine hall and a craftsman’s house. A reconstructed fruit-drying house completes the ensemble. Visitors see working demonstrations of nearly 30 crafts, including a steam-powered threshing machine. Handicraft days, harvest weeks and seasonal markets let them watch and buy products such as cider, pickled cabbage, embroidery, schnapps and farm pastries. The whole site is run by local volunteers.
