Pfarrkirche Kufstein-Endach

The Pfarrkirche Kufstein-Endach stands in the Endach district of Kufstein, a town in the Tirol region of Austria. It is a modern parish church dedicated to the Holy Family, part of the Kufstein deanery in the Archdiocese of Salzburg. The church replaced an earlier temporary arrangement where services were held in a private home. Construction began in 1979, and the first service took place in the parish centre in 1980. The altar and tabernacle were consecrated in 1981 by Archbishop Karl Berg. The church’s interior features a distinctive altar design created by the Höck family in collaboration with the glassworks Ehrenstrasser. Their technique involves layering coloured glass shards between two glass plates, which are then fused at high heat for 24 hours. A white Madonna statue by sculptor Hans Osterfeld and a Stations of the Cross by OSR Hans Henzinger add to the sacred atmosphere. A historic bell from 1839, cast by Josef Georg Miller, was moved from the Spitalskirche and installed in the foyer. Visitors find a simple yet striking modern church with clean lines and thoughtful details. The glass altar elements catch the light in unexpected ways, creating a sense of reverence. The white Madonna stands in quiet dignity, while the historic bell adds a touch of tradition. The surroundings are peaceful, with the church serving as a spiritual centre for the Endach community. Though the planned bell tower was never built, the church remains a place of worship and reflection.
