University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln stands beside Brayford Pool in the centre of Lincoln. Its main campus occupies a brownfield site regenerated with over £375 million of investment. The pool is a former dock now ringed by modern buildings and retail space. Queen Elizabeth II opened this city-centre campus in the late 1990s. The university also uses Riseholme and Holbeach campuses across Lincolnshire. The university’s move to Lincoln created at least 3,000 local jobs and adds more than £250 million to the local economy each year. Rob Parker, who led the redevelopment, called it his greatest political achievement. The Brayford Pool campus hosts the Lincoln Medical School, opened in 2021 in partnership with the University of Nottingham. The Isaac Newton Building houses Siemens Industrial Turbo-machinery’s training facility. Royal Geographical Society accredits the Geography programmes. Visitors find the Brayford Pool campus beside the waterfront with lecture theatres and libraries. The Isaac Newton Building combines engineering and industry training spaces. The Sarah Swift Building contains psychology labs and a mock hospital ward. The Human Performance Centre has treadmills, endless pools, and motion analysis equipment. Riseholme campus includes a working farm with Lincoln Red cattle and Longwool sheep. Holbeach’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing has microbiology labs and sensory suites.
