Hidden Valley Discovery Park

Hidden Valley Discovery Park is a family-run attraction near Launceston in Cornwall. It began in 1994 as a simple treasure hunt and play area called Tredidon Trails. The founder, Pete Jones, drew ideas from Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The park now includes mazes, a miniature railway and a Victorian-style reception building. About 27,000 visitors come each year to explore its trails. The centrepiece is the Forbidden Mansion with secret passageways and upside-down rooms. Inside, team treasure hunts lead to crystals in the style of Crystal Maze. A new Study room offers an escape-room experience and an Ames room illusion. The miniature railway, Porterswick Junction Light Railway, runs for 900 yards around the site. It has four bridges, an engine shed and two locomotives. Paths wind through wooded areas and open spaces around the mansion. The Victorian pumping-station reception houses a café and gift shop. Visitors can ride the miniature railway or tackle the mansion’s puzzles. The park mixes outdoor adventure with indoor challenges for all ages.
