All Saints Church

All Saints Church stands on a hill above Deganwy, overlooking the wide Conwy estuary. The building is an active Anglican church, part of a larger benefice and diocese. It was designed by John Douglas of Chester and built as a memorial by Lady Augusta Mostyn. The church has a tall west tower, a clerestory along the nave, and a chancel raised above the nave floor. Cadw lists the church as Grade II* for its architectural importance. The interior contains a two-manual organ built in 1899 by Alex Young and Sons. In 1972 the organ was modified by L. Reeves to improve its sound. The organ case and pipes remain a focal point in the nave. Stained glass and woodwork add to the church’s quiet dignity. Services and concerts often feature the organ’s warm tones. Visitors find a peaceful place with sweeping views across the estuary. The stone tower can be seen from trains approaching Deganwy station. Inside, the light through the clerestory windows falls on plain pews and flagstone floors. The chancel’s height gives a sense of space and reverence. The churchyard holds weathered gravestones and a few mature trees.
