Brora Rangers F.C.
Brora Rangers F.C. is a Scottish football club from the village of Brora in Sutherland, Highland. They play in the Highland League and have won its title six times, first in 2013–14 and again in 2014–15. The club also holds nine North of Scotland Cup wins and three Highland League Cup victories. Known locally as the Cattachs, they share a rivalry with neighbours Wick Academy in the Northern Derby. Their home ground is Dudgeon Park in Brora. The club’s achievements include setting postwar Highland League records in 2013–14. They finished with 95 points, a 20-point margin, 31 wins from 34 matches, only 16 goals conceded and a +107 goal difference. In 2014–15 they scored 125 goals in a season, beating the previous postwar record. Chairman John Young confirmed the club would pursue promotion despite travel concerns for players and supporters. Dudgeon Park has a capacity of 4,000, including 200 seats, and once hosted over 2,000 fans for a friendly against Rangers in 2013. The ground replaced Inverbrora Park, which now lies beneath the Hunters of Brora woollen mills. Matches draw loyal crowds from across Sutherland, and the club’s cup run against Heart of Midlothian in 2021 remains one of Scotland’s biggest shocks.
