Carnedd gron Craig-y-Forwyn

A round cairn from the late Stone Age and early Bronze Age stands on a ridge in Llandegla, Denbighshire. The site lies beside a minor road at grid reference SJ236480, surrounded by open moorland. Its purpose was probably tied to burial rites and religious ceremonies of the time. Cadw recognises the cairn as a scheduled ancient monument under number DE267. It forms part of a wider landscape shaped by Neolithic and Bronze Age communities. These people also built chambered tombs, round barrows, stone circles, hillforts, Irish huts and standing stones across the region. Visitors reach the cairn by a short walk from the nearest lane. The low, grass-covered mound blends into the hillside, marked only by a few upright stones. From the ridge there are wide views over Clocaenog Forest and the Clwydian Range.
