Feddal Castle

Feddal Castle stands on the site of an older fortress between Stirling and Perth in Perth and Kinross. Its origins are lost, but one stone bears the date 1683. Around 1900 the building was enlarged and given Gothic Revival details. A fire in 1929 left only ruins, which were cleared in 1953. The remaining walls and fragments were recognised in 1971 as a Listed Building of category B. This protects the site under Scottish heritage law. Visitors today see low stone foundations and a single surviving wall. The castle lies in open farmland with views across the Carse of Gowrie. A short path leads from the road to the protected remains. The Gothic windows and doorways still show the style chosen in the early 20th century.
