Hansa Theater Hörde

The Hansa Theater Hörde is a boulevard theatre in Hörde, a district of Dortmund. The ensemble, led by singer Rudi Strothmüller and director Jost Krüger, moved into its current home in 2007 after years of touring. The building was once a community centre, repurposed to house performances and rehearsals. The theatre is known for musical revues and guest appearances by well-known artists. Past shows include the Johnny Cash Revue, Janis Joplin Show and Udo Jürgens’ Merci. Singers such as Anne Simmering, Kammersänger Andreas Becker and Katja Ebstein have appeared on its stage. The programme balances the ensemble’s own productions with outside productions. Visitors find a modernised hall with seating for around 400. The stage hosts musicals, revues and occasional cabaret. The theatre sits on Eckardtstraße in Hörde, close to local shops and cafés. Its programme reflects the tastes of a wide audience in the Ruhr region.
